EXECUTIVE HEADTEACHER’S MESSAGE

Welcome to Frederick Gent School

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Fredrick Gent School which is part of The Two Counties Trust, a local multi-academy trust comprising 8 secondary schools.

As a school leader I believe it is our duty to develop the aspirations of our students, to set very high standards, to encourage all students to aim high and achieve these high standards for themselves.

Following the resignation of Julie Broadbent as Headteacher in December The Two Counties Trust has approved a new Leadership Team at the school. This team has the capability, skill and experience to ensure that we will build on the recent improvements made at the school.

The leadership structure for the remainder of this academic year will be:

 Executive Headteacher: Dick Vasey

 Head of School: Christopher Woollard

 Deputy Headteacher: Mike Bradshaw

 Deputy Headteacher Rachael Skelton

 Assistant Headteacher: Suzanne Gascoigne

 Assistant Headteacher: Zoe Chambers

I am the CEO of The Two Counties Trust and I will be based at Frederick Gent School for at least 2 days a week for the remainder of this academic year. Chris Woollard who was the Senior Deputy Headteacher at Ashfield School joins the school on a secondment basis as Head of School. Chris will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the school. We both look forward to meeting you at future events in school.

My experience of Frederick Gent School is that it is a vibrant learning environment in which students feel safe, well supported and confident. Staff encourage students to take pride in themselves, the school and their community. Frederick Gent School is a place where everyone works hard and shows respect to each other. Teachers deliver high quality teaching with a personalised approach to learning in order to support all our students to achieve their potential.

It is our ambition that by the time our students leave we will have delivered the school vision which is to provide a quality teaching and learning experience, outstanding pastoral care and success for all.

Dick Vasey
